High Serum Triglycerides Levels May Not Show Symptoms
Triglycerides are digested by the body and are source of energy for metabolism. In the right amounts, triglycerides are good for the health of the body, however when in excess, they can lead to health complications. When you take in too many calories than the body can utilize, they are converted and stored as triglycerides.
Increased levels of these fats can result to health conditions like heart disease and diabetes. High triglycerides do not show symptoms in body except when the high levels are caused by a genetic disorder. If a genetic condition causes the elevated levels of these fats, a person may have fatty deposits under the skin, a condition known as xanthomas.
What are triglycerides?
Triglycerides are organic chemicals compounds that form part of the different lipids or fats found in food. Other lipids include sterols or cholesterol and phospholipids. Triglycerides are the common form fat people digest from the food they eat and consist of the main ingredients in vegetable and animal fats.

Chylomicron is a lipoprotein particle and works the same way high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein function. Chylomicrons are compounds that transport dietary lipids or fats from small intestines, through the circulation system, to the cells. The chylomicron coats the triglyceride with a layer of protein so that the fat and protein combination is able to travel in the water-based solution of the bloodstream.
